When called in to consult on this Umhlanga based project this space was half gutted and nonfunctional. The brief was quite simple from the client, create something beautiful. We decided to move forward with an Indonesian feel with lots of interest and features. Gold toned embellished wallpaper, crystal pendants, a detailed mirror, a beautiful Victoria & Albert Basin and detailed vanity. We wanted the vanity to be the feature of the space so instead of going for a custom made vanity we searched high and low for the perfect Indonesian hand carved unit that was thereafter converted into a vanity by our team.

Project Description:

This Glenwood client required a decor revamp in their formal lounge. Kirsty Badenhorst Interiors wrapped the room in beautiful tonal wallpaper to create interest in the space. Using the clients existing furniture to keep with the style of the home, items were reupholstered in suiting fabrics and dressed with detailed scatter cushions. Simple yet elegant details pulled the room together; an unused fireplace dressed with candles and mirror for effect, strategically placed items from the family’s worldwide travels.
