Sister Secrets In Musgrave

When approached to design 2 little sisters new bedroom we couldn’t help but get creative. All we wanted was to create a space that beamed with fun, incorporating loads of different patterns and colours. The brief was greys and dusty pinks, with the sisters being a few years apart the space needed to be able to withstand the years as they grow.

.

These precious little girls loved playing on the floor with there abundance of toy supplies from mom and dad. So we went for a soft carpeted floor, a ‘reading’ corner full of comfy scatters and of course bunk beds. I mean who does not love bunk beds!

.

With regards to design details we went for a more interesting approach bringing in wallpaper on the walls as well as the ceilings. We created a fun closet design so that each sister would have her own space but still feel individual in a shared space. Of course we start the design process with a mood board. Getting the creative juices flowing and ensuring we are on the right track with the brief from the client. Here are some of the textures and details we wanted to bring into the space.

NURSERY DESIGN

Are you looking to decorate your nursery but have absolutely no idea where to begin? Look no further! This blog post will help you find inspiration, and inform you of how to achieve the perfect nursery for your little one.

Colour Palettes

Traditionally, nurseries would be designed in bright colours, such as blues, pinks and greens. This however, does not always provide a calm and nurturing environment. We suggest sticking to a muted colour palette, including greys, whites and pastels. Once you have chosen a colour theme, you are now ready to start choosing furniture.

Furniture.

Nurseries need to include all the necessary furniture to nurse a baby, however, the furniture does not need to be standard or clinical. A nursery would need to include:

Changing station:

 

    

 

Storage…lots and lots of storage

 

    
Lighting.

Lighting is a big part of nursery design. The space should not be too bright, and should create a calming environment. Natural light should be utilised as much as possible, and block out curtains are a great way to block out light when needed. Add a little fun!

Wall murals are a great way to add a quirky and creative element into the design. These can be in the form of wallpapers or even painted designs. (see murals post)

 

    
Accessorise.

Bring out your inner child! Accessories are another great way to incorporate quirky elements into the space. Below are a few examples of toys, murals and other accessories which will help create a beautiful and stimulating environment for your little one.
