Kirsty Badenhorst Interiors was hired to do the interior design concept for a restaurant in Franschhoek. We wanted the space to have interest to meet the modern style of cooking of the chef.
.
The mood board represents the look and feel of the space. Neutral tones have been used throughout the design. A combination of jade tones have been incorporated to add colour and interest to the design. We have used tones of copper to compliment the jade accents. As the restaurant needed to be vibrant, large pendant lights were used. These were hung at various heights above the seating areas of the restaurant. Fortunately the chef had an agreement with a lovely gallery in the area and they were to provide rotating artworks, hence the base choice in the space being jade creating a beautiful backdrop to any tone brought into the space.
The restaurant needed to seat as many people as possible. Therefore, multiple plans were drawn and altered in order to achieve maximum efficiency. This was achieved without making the space cramped in any way.
