One of the trends that I have seen stand the test of time has been the use of white in an interior. This has certainly grown with the styles as time as passed. I just love the use of white! Whether it is in abundance or selected features it creates a sense of freshness and brings light into the room.

Here are some inspirational images for different areas in the home to show you how best to incorporate white into your space.

.

Living areas:

A lounge mostly needs to be functional but that being said it is the area of gathering, being social as well as a resting space. If the seating is where you want to bring in the white be sure to choose fabrics that have a very high rub count (your harder wearing woven fabrics). You can also scotch guard your fabrics which I would recommend anyway, be it white or any other tone for that matter. Throwing some blankets and decorative pieces can also help break up the white and protect it from marks.

Bedroom:

A bedroom is a sanctuary and safe haven. A place where we retreat at the end of the day to recoup and recharge. I find using white in bedroom can be luxurious, it creates a sense of softness and calm. In the images below you can see how the white is the main feature yet it is paired with natural elements and timbers.

Kitchen:

Of course the kitchen is a place that does tend to get a bit dirty, after all it is a functional space and not for show alone. So in design phases some may stray from using white. However, we all want a spectacular kitchen as it is the heart of the home. A kitchen is a space that brings the family together.

Bathrooms:

A bathroom is a space not to be neglected in design. As you can see below, the simplest design aspects can make the largest impacts.
